About Gary, our co-host

Gary Turner advises and invests in early-stage tech in both the UK and internationally. As an operator, he established and led the UK arm of the global cloud accounting platform Xero from 2009 to 2022. Under Gary’s leadership, Xero’s UK business grew from revenue of £56k in its first year to over £150 million ARR (USD$185m) from more than 850,000 business customers.

Prior to Xero, Gary held leadership roles at Microsoft and Systems Union.

He has since advised more than 100 founders and executives through every growth stage — from starting up to scaling up, including domestic and international market expansion. Alongside that, he’s made a number of angel investments in the next generation of B2B startups.
